Terms of Use
End User License Agreement (EULA) · Last updated: August 10, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Artiom Gaureac (“we”, “us”), the developer of Receipt Scanner: Expenses (“the app”). By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
1. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business use, in line with Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where those Apple terms and these terms disagree, Apple’s terms prevail.
2. What the app does
The app scans paper receipts with your camera, recognizes their text on your device (English and Russian), fills in merchant, date, total, tax and a suggested category, lets you import photos and PDFs, organizes expenses into categories, and builds reports you can export as PDF, CSV or Excel. Your receipts are stored in the app’s local storage on your device, with an optional backup to your own iCloud. The app is offline-first; it reaches the internet only for currency exchange rates, for your subscription, and for iCloud backup if you turn it on. Our Privacy Policy lists each case.
3. Not financial, tax, or legal advice
The app is a tool for recording and organizing receipts and expenses. It does not provide accounting, tax, financial or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional or for the original receipts your tax authority may require you to keep. You are responsible for reviewing what the app produces before you file, claim or otherwise rely on it, and for the decisions you make from it.
4. Text recognition
Recognized text is produced automatically and can contain errors, particularly on faded thermal paper, handwriting, low-contrast scans and unusual layouts. Amounts, dates, taxes and currencies are suggestions — check anything that matters before you rely on it. Currency conversion uses published European Central Bank reference rates and is an estimate, not a record of what your bank actually charged.
5. Your receipts and backups
Your receipts and the data you enter belong to you. They are stored only in the app’s local storage on your device and are not uploaded to us. This also means that deleting the app deletes them, and we cannot recover them for you. Keep your own copies of anything important — the app can export your reports, and its ZIP export saves your whole archive. iCloud backup, if you turn it on, uses your own private iCloud account and is subject to Apple’s terms.
6. Subscriptions and payments
The app is free to use with limits: 10 receipt scans per calendar month, with unlimited manual entry, storage, search, editing and report building. A Pro subscription removes the scan limit and unlocks report export (PDF, CSV and Excel) and iCloud backup and restore. Pro is offered as an auto-renewing weekly, monthly or annual subscription; the annual plan includes a free trial period for new subscribers, and the weekly and monthly plans do not.
- Prices are shown in the app before you buy and vary by country and currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings on your device, under your Apple ID, in the Subscriptions section. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- If you start a free trial and then buy a subscription during it, the unused part of the trial is forfeited, as required by Apple.
- Apple processes all payments, renewals and refunds under its own terms. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to break the law, or to create or alter receipts, expense records or reports in order to deceive anyone — including to claim expenses you did not incur or to misstate them to an employer or a tax authority. Do not reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, and do not redistribute or resell it, except where such restrictions are void under the law that applies to you.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its name, its icon and its code remain our property. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you. The receipts, expenses and reports you create or import remain entirely yours, and we claim no rights over them.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and no warranty about the accuracy of text recognition, edge detection, currency conversion or export results.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, lost receipts or rejected claims and filings. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
11. Changes
We may change the app, its features and these terms. When these terms change, the date above changes with them. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new version. If a change affects how data is handled, the Privacy Policy is updated before the version that makes the change is released.
12. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your license if you materially break these terms. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers and liability survive termination.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Moldova, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
14. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a terrorist supporting country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
